Thanks for your comment, Julie! This is a high priority for us at emersion. Be sure to look at Sally Morgenthaler's and Tim Keel's chapters in the manifesto, which both address leadership in a flattened world...

It would be great to see a book on "Emerging Urban Ministry" or "Re-imagining Urban Ministry." What say ye?

I would like to see a(nother) book on emerging youth ministry. I am currently writing my bachelor's senior thesis on the emerging church and implications in youth ministry, but for the most part it will be highly speculative because I have only done part-time youth ministry for a few years. Pomo Youth Ministry by Tony Jones is a great book... I wonder what it would look like published in 2008 as opposed to 2001 given the amount of progress that Emergent has made since then.

Of course, I'll probably read anything that is put out anyway... :)

Hi- great site and I'm looking forward to this line of books.

I took the poll, and yes, had to give my vote to the one about women's leadership. It is a touchy subject given that it assumes certain gender differences, but one that is a constant topic of conversation (at least among the women). The desire to get away from leadership (voice) based on hierarchy and fame is part of how women are influencing this particular conversation. I think it would be helpful to highlight some of the new forms of leadership that women are exploring and how those fit within the emergent conversation. If anything, it would help women understand that they don't have to act like men in order to serve God. just my $.02 on the matter!
